Falls Church, Va. — Bailey’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department has announced its officers for 2015:
President: Gerry Strider
Chief: Tyler Thaler
Vice-President: Dillon Dickson
Treasurer: Upeksha Thilakawardana
Secretary: Sandi Belson
Bailey’s Crossroads VFD has been serving the community for more than 70 years and Fire Station 10 is one of the busiest in the county. In fiscal 2014, the department’s 60 members contributed more than 13,100 hours supporting Fairfax County.
Last Fall, county and volunteer firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and administrative members moved back to its facilities at 3601 Firehouse Lane. A new $6 million, 17,000 square-foot building with drive-through apparatus bays replaced a firehouse built in 1974 that was severely damaged in a snowstorm on Feb. 8, 2010.
