Fair Oaks Fire and Rescue Announces 2015 Directors

Fairfax, Va. — The Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company has announced its 2015 Board of Directors:

President: Jonathan Wood
Vice President: Kevin Mullins
Treasurer: Kelley Wine
Secretary: Camilla Morrison
Directors: Shane Murphy, Bruce Rager, and Scott Sterling
Chief: Jack May

The volunteer organization operates out of Station 21 on 12300 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, in partnership with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. In fiscal 2014, 50 volunteers logged more than 10,900 hours supporting the community. Its members provide supplemental staffing on frontline county apparatus as well as staff additional units during periods of training or high incident activity.

Last month, a fire engine operated by fire department volunteers brought Santa to the Franklin Glen, Franklin Farm, Hunters Run, Poplar Tree Estates, Random Hills, and Greenbriar neighborhoods, continuing an annual tradition.

Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue owns and staffs a Basic Life Support ambulance, a fire engine, and a command officer vehicle. It also owns a heavy rescue unit, an Advanced Life Support medic, and a utility/boat tow vehicle which are operated by the County’s career staff.
